Back of the Wardobe: Styling African prints

This time, Emma showed us all how to style African prints. I was really looking forward to seeing her take on this, being African myself.  In all honesty, I think Emma's tips would be so handy back in South Africa, as I noticed most of us back home, hardly wear our lovely African prints, even though they seem to be on every street corner. I guess we just have no clue how to wear it. I've only ever owned one african print skirt, which I loved. Sad, really.

Emma did a great job on mixing African prints with western styles. I must say the looks were funky and rather wearable.

Here are a few the shots I took. See the rest of the photos and Emma's tips on how to pull it all together at backofthewardrobe.com.

Without my glasses

Sometimes I just get in the mood for shooting some blur.
Below is the Thames, the shard and the London Bridge all blurred on purpose. See more on my Instagram.

Kew Gardens

Kew Gardens is crazy beautiful.. almost heavenly.

I wish I was able to capture the Amazonian-looking humongous plants and bees that looked like soft toys - huge, bright yellow and black furry bees. There's no better way to describe some of what I saw there, than out of this world. If you look closely, you'll see bees in the very last shot, unfortunately I did not get a close-up.

Here are just a few of the shots I took, none of which capture the beauty as I saw it.

Streets of London: Trafalgar Square

I don't know about you, but Trafalgar Square oddly reminds me of the very final episode of Ugly Betty. Anyone with me on this?

So this is a long-ish post with lots of photos, as I went a bit crazy over there :) This wasn't even all the shots I took. I might post the rest on Flickr or create another post, but for now this should do.
I love this place.. always something to see and always moments to capture.
